Carbon Fiber technology in every brace

South West Orthopedic Designs now uses Carbon Fiber technology (SpectraCarb™) in every brace. This material allows the SWOD braces to be stronger and more durable yet still remain lighter and sleeker than most of the AFOs on the market today. SpectraCarb™ states that "it is, pound for pound, ten times stronger than steel, and more durable than polyester." Once again, South West Orthopedic Designs brings you a better brace at no additional cost to you.

Leather-like Material

"Still using leather???"

Haven't you heard. There is a better alternative. South West's leather-like material (SWOD Suede) is a man-made Leather. This man-made leather was created by state of the art technology, consisting of developments in fiber, non-woven material and high performance polymers.

The creation came from the scientific research of compound ultra-fine fiber as a central force and duplicating the complex structure of natural leather.

This unique and special material, which exhibits and exceed the
qualities of natural leather, has been used for garments, sporting
goods, shoes, home-furnishings, and lately, orthopedic products.

Where natural leather tends to slip, SWOD suede works to limit friction within the shoe by locking in the inserted AFO and reducing slippage within the shoe.

Now you can have the look and feel of suede leather in your South West AFO. Color choices are beige, black and brown.
